Choral Music Competitions

The National Choral music competitions took off three weeks ago with the district events. The school choir led by its able and charismatic choir master, Mr Masiko, came home with a number of trouphies. They then proceeded to the regional competetions on Saturday 19 May at the Tlhabane Cultural Centre. Here again they made a clean sweep of the competions, taking first position in all seven pieces they presented. We say congratulations to the choir master and his dedicated young girls and boys who are putting the name of Sekete High School on the music map.

Traditional Dancers

The school's Traditional Dancing Group was invited to the opening of the new Vukuzenzela High School at Freedom Park location. The function was attended by dignataries from both the national and provincial levels. The Deputy Minister for Education, Mr Surtey and the provincial MEC for Education, Mr Tshelapedi were there. The dancing group thrilled all the crowd with their melodic voices and cryptic and expresssive dancing movements. Truly, they won not only the cheers but also the hearts of everyone at the event. They have been invited again to perform at a function in the Tlhabane location on Sunday 20 May. You can watch this page for more on their performance on that day.
